Porsche 924 Turbo

SPAL cooling fan and shroud

Made from 1mm aluminium sheet.

This is my "poor man's sheet metal brake". Just a length of RHS bolted through the bench.

Seems to work well.

Electric water pump install

So I finally got the bits together to fit a Meziere WP337 remote electric water pump. The goal is to create enough space behind the radiator for a proper cooling fan and shroud and to increase the capacity of the cooling system.

I made a mounting bracket that lines up the pump inlet and rad outlet:

Goodbye gilmer belt kit

I have to get rid of the gilmer kit on the SBC 924 to make way for a Meziere electric water pump setup so I thought I'd take a quick video of the sound... I'll miss it:

Alternator bracket broke

So I made a new one that won't.

Finishing touches part 1

It's nice to be able to fart-ass around on cosmetic/fun things for a change. I've been embossing a munge of the porsche and chevy logos onto my aircleaner checkitout:

Bonnet on, new air cleaner

So I've finally got a bonnet on the beast, it's a 944 bonnet which is nice, also fabbed up a new aircleaner as the choke plate would foul on the old one. And it was shithouse.

Fitting the hoodscoop to the bonnet:

Radiator and throttle linkage done

As per the title, I've made mounts for the radiator and the throttle linkage, happy with both. Check out the clearance on the water pump pulley! As my Dad says - just like a Jag haha.

Engine in car

After a bunch of muscling, jiggling, adjusting, banging and a black fingernail the motor is bolted into the car.
