It's a first for me. Stoked.

This is so dumb. I played progress wars until I got to level 31. So I was playing Streets of Rage 2 at work the other day (research) and came to a strange realisation. They totally modelled Donovan on Joe Satriani:

The first spoils of being a game developer arrived yesterday with the launch of Saints Row 2.

The rediculous contents of the "initiation pack" are
* A plastic replica of a large calibre rifle munition

* Discount vouchers for THQ games
* A vandalised membership card for a fictional library
* A map of the fabricated city
* An art book
* A defaced excercise book
* A stamped metal tin
* XL size basketball jersey

Oh yea and a copy of the game! Played for an hour last night - character creation was a blast, still not sure what I think of the gameplay. It bites way too hard on GTAIV for me so far.

Got around to doing a bit more on the MIDI Master project. I'm using the Windows Low Level MIDI API to read from MIDI devices and have worked out how to query all available devices. So you can select what device you want to use to play the game using the options screen below.

I've been doing a bunch more behind-the-scenes work on midi master - mainly the engine's timing function. Nothing much to show apart from the first note to grace the game screen. It's a blue E:

Well now that a JumpWorks release has been pushed back to Q1 2008 at the earliest, I have been thinking about a quick project to complete over the Xmas period...
