Big progress

This weekend got the water pump, intake manifold, carby and engine mounts completed. Several other parts also arrived so there is plenty to do. Here is the video update, pics after the jump:

Gaming swag!

The first spoils of being a game developer arrived yesterday with the launch of Saints Row 2.

The rediculous contents of the "initiation pack" are
* A plastic replica of a large calibre rifle munition
* A money clip
* Discount vouchers for THQ games
* A vandalised membership card for a fictional library
* A map of the fabricated city
* An art book
* A defaced excercise book
* A stamped metal tin
* XL size basketball jersey

Oh yea and a copy of the game! Played for an hour last night - character creation was a blast, still not sure what I think of the gameplay. It bites way too hard on GTAIV for me so far.

engine mounts done

Took most of the weekend making engine mounts. They don't look like much but once they are welded on the car, most of the fabrication work is done. Here is a pic of them tacked together before welding.

More welding technique

This time I was playing around with 5mm mild steel. Needs quite alot of power and feed compared to smaller guages

Motor in car

As you can see in the video above, got the bellhousing bolted on and engine mounts pretty much done.

Driveshaft so'ed

Got the modified torque tube back from the engineering shop yesterday and they have done a great job:

Engine and driveshaft become one

Got HEAPS done on the porschev this weekend - should be able to bolt the engine in next week! Pure luck that the end of the porsche driveshaft fits perfectly in the chev pilot bearing.

Special delivery

Picked up the new powerplant for the 924 on saturday morning. Nothing better than removing a brand new engine from it's crate.

Here's a short video of the motor coming out:

Fed Up!

Well the intricacies of extracting power from the stock audi donk have finally got the better of me and I'm moving in an entirely different direction. What follows is part one of converting the car to old school muscle car power: small block chev.
