Confession Booth - A labour of love iPhone app

Finally! After months of work and mucking around with the Apple developer program, the iPhone app I've been working on with Scott and Piers (get a web address sucker) is out in the wild. Check it out!

It looks a bit like this

And here is the description:

Too impatient to wait for Judgement Day? Stuck on an escalator that's only going down. Vent yo' self fool.

What will be your fate and who will decide?

Jam ideas

For some reason I never post much about music even tho I spend the majority of my time practicing and trying to make it... I guess its just that it's rare I get all the way to the end of a musical idea so I'm reluctant to litter the blog with all the bits and bobs. Anyway I think it would be nice to start posting them up in case one gets far enough along to turn into a finished track. This one is just a 13/8 groove (I think, drummers can correct me) idea to hopefully develop with some friends this weekend.

Foolish song lyric ebay feedback.

I'm a massive fan of "the bay" right? Feedback score 93 100% positive throwyaguns.

But lately I've been having some fun with the feedback I leave for other people and it's spreading. First two are mine, last one from a workmate who has also recently discovered the addiction of ebay:

Adventures ahoy

So the latest toy acquisition has forced me to create a new content type for this blog: Travel. That doesn't mean getting on a plane, getting a cab to the hotel, ordering the buffet breakfast and going on the sightseeing tour of location X/Y/Z. It means danger, adventure and having a blast all the way to the destination.

Like this!

I've bought my ticket:

Beautiful, she aint.

Progress once more

Well it's been a huge slog sorting out the exhaust with little to show as it's all under the car. But the engine bay is looking a little more complete with the addition of some shiny bits and bobs. They are just hung on in the picture, hoping to have everything attached over the easter break.

First go at sheetmetal fab: flywheel cover

Spent the last few days making this flywheel cover for the V8 porsche project, pretty happy with how it turned out.

Some progress pics after the jump.

Engine in car

After a bunch of muscling, jiggling, adjusting, banging and a black fingernail the motor is bolted into the car.

Finally, some progress - Clutch installed.

After an unintended break on the car due to some parts that never arrived from Blackforest Hybrids (grrr!), things are moving along on the porschev. Got the clutch installed and finished work on the bellhousing by welding a muncie/saginaw pattern transmission bearing retainer on.

GAME ON!

Went to the GAME ON exhibition opening party at the State Library QLD the other day. IT WAS UNREAL! I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Massive props to Jaymis who has created HeroVision which features at the game on parties. It's the best rock band experience to be had IMO. Apart from being in an actual rock band... but its close.

IE 7 and the Operation Aborted issue

Here is one for people developing web applications and experiencing Internet Explorer 7's very helpful "Operation Aborted" error message when modifying the DOM as part of page loading.

add the defer="true" attribute to your script tags to fix the problem. Booyah.
