New Loopus track

Pumped out another LOOPUS track this week, it's has a bit more energy than the previous ones so I called it Dad's Angry.

Also did a few tweaks to the logo which I'm happy with:

Wazza and Dave have been wearing Loopus shirts with it to gigs apparantly!

Drill through subframe bolt upgrade

Another good mod to the KLR 650 is the drill through subframe bolt upgrade kit. It's not quick though because you have to drill through about an inch of solid steel frame. The pic below is after about 20 minutes of drilling, the complete install took more like an hour.

Doing the doo

In order to get the KLR 650 up to a bullet-proof, simpson desert crossing (hah!) level of reliability, one of the things that has to be changed out is the balncer shafter tensioner lever. Understandably, folks call it the doohicky. Here is the process for doing your doohicky:

Mine is the red 04 KLR, the green one is an 08.

Plastics, tank and shifter removed:

Loopus

Have got a gig for a band I've been rehersing with recently so thought I'd post up a few of the tracks. They are pretty rough but give an idea of what we are getting up to. The lineup is bass, drums and guitar in a grooves/jazz style however I'm not playing any of the instruments. Each instrument gets a feed to my laptop and I'm using ableton to drop in samples and mainly to do realtime remixing. So each instrument can lay down comps or basslines or whatever and jam over the top.

Progress 30/5/09

Progress 30/5/09

SO close to being able to start this beast for the first time. Left on the todo list:

* Hook up the fuel pump, block off return to tank
* Weld on the exhaust from the cat back
* Hook up electric exhaust cutout
* Get fitting for oil pressure sender (damn sender fouls on the intake manifold!)
* Wiring for automatic choke, master cyl, dizzy, starter & thermo fan
* Make bottom brackets for radiator
* Fill with oil and coolant
* Prime oil pump
* Fit bonnet

Mt Cootha Classic 09

Went to the first Mt Cootha Classic hillclimb on the weekend and got some great pics. Click the DRB GT40 Replica in Gulf colours for more.

Radiator and throttle linkage done

As per the title, I've made mounts for the radiator and the throttle linkage, happy with both. Check out the clearance on the water pump pulley! As my Dad says - just like a Jag haha.

Donovan from SOR2 == Satch?

So I was playing Streets of Rage 2 at work the other day (research) and came to a strange realisation. They totally modelled Donovan on Joe Satriani:
