Up and running!

Woohoo! Idled and ran smoothly @ 2am last night.

Took a fair bit of cranking to realise a few things

* Coil pack needs 12v not GND despite the wiring diagram
* Firing order is 1342 so coil pinout is 1423 in a wasted spark setup
* Fuel pump relay or wiring is buggered (had to jumper the relay)

We have boost

Turbo and manifold is back on the engine, everything cemented, re-gasketed and torqued up ready to roll.

Getting close...

Making good progress lately. The current plan of "engine out, new turbo, engine in" has changed to "engine out, everything else out, clean everything, replace everything, paint some stuff, improve some things, put everything back together.

Cleaned up the head, put in a new oil squirter elbow, reset the valve clearances, put on a new camshaft gasket and installed a new water pump.

New turbo acquired

Just bought a brand new KKK26 from Option1Garage.com.au, checkit out:

Major progress!

Woot! Engine is out and work has begun. Shortlist of work thats happening while the donk is out:

* Replace turbo
* Repair and clean engine bay
* Rebuild wastegate
* Reco wastegate pipe
* replace boost control
* Reco exhaust manifold
* New clutch friction plate
* New mid exhaust

State of things to come

Today I started preparing the engine for removal and cleaned out the rusty area where the battery sits.

Brake upgrade for the 924

Time for a complete overhaul of the 924 braking system.

Street + Track car

My goal with this 1979 Porsche 924 Turbo is to make a car that is good fun at the track and is also usable for the odd run to the shops. Sounds easy but here is the rough task list:

*Purchase car (completed)
*Service and tune in stock form (completed)
*Upgrade braking system to deal with track abuse (completed)
*Recondition turbo and replace cold side with a more durable unit (done, failed, trying again)
*Replace mechanical ignition control with an electronic unit (completed)
*Upgrade shocks to Koni adjustables

Remember Stunts?

My friend Ryan and I had one of those conversations that most gamers will be familiar with:

Remember Stunts? Yea that game ruled! You could make your own tracks and share them and race around, I wish that game was still around.

So we set out to make a Stunts inspired game which we are calling JumpWorks. Here is a very early screenshot:

Musiq for Pleasure

Here are the two albums produced by Musiq for Pleasure in their entirety. The band consists of myself and Matt Redlich who does great work over at JLM Audio. Enjoy.
